The Snowball
Time as an ally, regularity as the method
This tool isn't here to judge anyone's personal timing. It's never too late to learn. It's never too early to pass it on. Nothing is sent or kept after you close this page.

This chart says nothing about what you should have done yesterday. It only shows what regularity can do starting today, for you, or for someone you pass the method on to.
This is a simulation, not personalised advice. The return rate used is the one you chose, not a forecast or a recommendation from ElIsma Technologies. Past performance does not guarantee future results. To build a strategy suited to your situation, consult a licensed investment adviser. See the full disclaimer (FR).
You've just seen what regularity can do, over years. Knowing it is one thing. Living it is another.
Got a precise goal in mind rather than free exploration? My Capital calculates exactly what you need to save.
Discover My Capital →A precise ambition, like the first million? The First Million calculates both possible payments, nominal and real.
Discover The First Million →A snowball rolling downhill doesn't grow at a steady pace: the bigger it gets, the more snow it picks up with each turn, the faster it grows. Compound interest works the same way: capital generates interest, and that interest itself generates more interest. It's not growth that adds up, it's growth that accelerates.
Time is the main driver, ahead of the amount. A small payment with 10 extra years can outgrow a much larger payment that starts later. That's why this tool talks as much about duration as about amount.
The rule of 72, a simple mental shortcut worth keeping: divide 72 by your return rate to estimate how many years it takes for your capital to double. At 6%, roughly 12 years. At 3%, roughly 24 years.
The return rate remains your choice. As a historical example, a regulated savings account typically shows 1 to 2%, while the MSCI World index has shown an average annual return of roughly 7 to 8% over the long term. Past performance never guarantees future results.
